A DEEP INVESTMENT APPROACH
At GCCE we partner with cultural entrepreneurs and work alongside to build vibrant cultural enterprises. The Cultural Entrepreneurship Fellows Program bridges the gap between the emerging cultural entrepreneur and the resources necessary to building a business capable of employing many. Each year GCCE selects eight cultural entrepreneurs and works with them individually to significantly increase the success of their enterprise. Meet an Entrepreneur. Through this intensive coaching and training program, GCCE Fellows:
- Receive guidance and support in a year-long 1:1 coaching program.
- Work individually with a Cultural Enterprise Coach, selected based on each Fellows’ unique market and enterprise needs.
- Attend monthly entrepreneurship learning-circles with Fellows cohort.
- Gain access to business experts, market specialists, finance and business systems technicians, and product developers.
- Receive financial support in the form of travel stipends and marketing support.
- Connect to GCCE’s global network of cultural leaders, marketers, and educators.
Program Elements
The foundation of the Fellows Program is the GCCE Core Curriculum. This curriculum shapes the Fellows’ learning processes and creates a strong conceptual foundation from which Fellows more effectively build their enterprises. The curriculum addresses essential entrepreneurship topics including:
- The Entrepreneurial Process
- Opportunity Analysis
- Sales
- Finance and Accounting
- Cash Flow Management
- Leadership and Team Building
- Operations
Fellows participate in on-going cohort learning activities including:
- Bi-weekly entrepreneurship “classes” delivered online.
- Frequent communication between the Fellow and his or her Coach, access to the Coach’s professional networks, on-going assistance in improving the enterprise.
- Monthly 1:1 in-person executive coaching with GCCE leadership and/or Consultants.
- Monthly curriculum-based learning circles and entrepreneurship trainings (whole cohort).
- On-going participation in GCCE online community discussions, expert-led webinars, and peer-learning networks.
- Frequent and consistent evaluation and support from GCCE program staff.
Each Fellow develops a business plan that identifies the market opportunities, competitive factors, core competencies, and resource needs of the enterprise. Moreover, the plan establishes concrete growth goals and strategies, tactics, and operations suitable to achieving the goals. Fellows receive assistance in both developing and executing the plan during the course of the Fellowship.
